◆Wagner : Lohengrin - Prelude to Act I, Prelude to Act III
In Hitachi,Ibaraki,The Hitachi Symphony Orchestra(H.S.O) was founded by 28 music loving mambers out of the ruins of World War II. Members include Hitachi,Ltd ,Hitachi group companies employees and their families, and other citizens. Its activity was introduced to the world in 1966 by the film named "Hitachi Symphony Orchestra" by Japan External Trade Organization(JETRO)
In 1986, We gave its first overseas concert in China(Beijing & Tangshan), and performed in Singapore in 1997. It continues to perform both in Japan and abroad.
Recently, we had concerts for Tohoku earthquake and tsunami victims in Miyagi and Fukushima. In 2015 in Iwaki, Fukushima. H.S.O and a combined choir of students performed "Fukushima Memorial Concert" with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Thomas Atkins, conductor Brian Castles-Onion.
We have extended our activity throughout the community with school visit concerts, and opera performances, in additional to the two regular concerts held every year.
HSO has visited more than 20 cities
